Preventing and combating discrimination in Moldova
In order to familiarise the staff and members of the Moldovan Council for Prevention and Elimination of Discrimination and Ensuring Equality and for the staff of the Ombudsperson Office from Chisinau with the Council of Europe framework and institutions for protection against discrimination, the Council of Europe organised a one day training course. The training course took place on 26 February in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova. An international trainer presented to the participants the mandate and functioning of the Council of Europe institutions from the perspective of preventing and combatting discrimination, also some aspects of the European Convention on Human Rights, Revised European Social Charter and European Commission against Racism and Intolerance from the same perspective. The training course was attended by 17 participants.
This event was organised in the framework of the EU/CoE Joint Project "Supporting national efforts for prevention and combating discrimination in Moldova ", which is part of the Programmatic Cooperation Framework for Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Republic of Moldova, Ukraine and Belarus.
