Press freedom: the main judgments of the CourtPress freedom derives from the fundamental right to freedom of expression recognised in Article 10 of the European Convention on Human Rights. This right includes freedom to hold opinions and to receive and impart information and ideas without interference by public authority. On the occasion of the Convention's 60th anniversary, the Council of Europe is, throughout the year 2010, emphasising the case-law of the European Court of Human Rights and the contribution that the Court thus makes to increasing freedom of expression and press freedom. |
